This may sound odd, but what's happening to you isn't the end of the world,
or some colossal failure on your part, it's normal. It's also temporary. :-)
After years of doing this, I can tell you that there will always
be ups and downs. There are always times when you're all focused and excited and times (days, weeks, months) when you'd
rather throw yourself into oncoming traffic than get on a treadmill. Happens to everybody.
Now most people, they hit a down and they think, "OMG, I can't do this.
Why do I even bother?" ...and then they give up, get fat, and have to start all over again. Me, I acknowledge that I'm in
a slump, I cut myself some slack, and I keep going as best I can.
Sometimes I do Body for Life strict, and sometimes I do Body
for Life loose (veeeery loose) but I NEVER QUIT!!! I've never considered myself "off" of BFL since I found
it. Sometimes when I'm in a raging slump, the only way I can get myself to the gym is by telling myself that when
I'm done, I can go through the McDonald's drive-thru. LOL :-) If your eating takes a dive, it's more important than ever that
you workout.
When you're sick, when you're sleep deprived, when you're under a lot of
stress, pulling out the motivational quotes isn't going to help you any. You need to get well, get some sleep, do something
to reduce the stress. Even if it's a whole messy complicated situation, do one thing to make it better. Make a call, pay a
bill, have a talk. Take one little action that contributes to resolving things. Then you'll feel relieved,
more productive, and less helpless. In other words, more likely to get it together.
Do the best you can with your nutrition and workouts. Sometimes your best
is going to suck. :-) You'll pull out of it. We have faith.
